This place is everything you heard about and more. Best selection of oysters you're going to get anywhere in Portland. We were able to go to the standing room only knowing that we wanted to just eat our oysters and leave. It worked out great and the waitress was so nice and helpful. Got 4 different kinds of oysters with very unique sides. Cocktail sauce and mignonette are normal but they have shaved ice in red onion and horseradish flavor and it was amazing! I cannot recommend the red onion and horseradish shaved ice combo enough! It is a staff favorite. The oysters were expertly shucked and so dang good!

My first stop for every visit in Portland, Maine. It feels like foods are so much better than the branch in Boston.Oysters are so fresh and well presented. Staffs are very knowledgeable on different oysters , which was super helpful on picking ones to try. Lobster rolls in Eventide is so unique. It looks so small whenever I receive my rolls but it's filling once you have it as rolls is delicious and great combination with lobster meats. They don't take reservations but since many people have raw bars and quick bite size of the foods, you will get your table soon enough. I am glad to visit again this year again!

The best lobster roll I've ever had. It's worth the hype! We were lucky and got seated immediately. We were at the window seat and got a great view of the patio. Our server was attentive and helped walk us through the menu. Most of our food came out quickly but my husband order the chicken sandwich and it was about 5-10 minutes after everything else came out. Thankfully we got chips to share so he had something while the rest of us at the lobster rolls.

apparently I never finished this review from 2016 but we stopped for a late lunch and enjoyed the oysters, brown buttered lobster and the tuna. Service was excellent and it was a lovely day in Portland. Since my visit I have heard that it maintains its good service and quality.

Eventide lived up to everything people said about it. In route to Maine I stopped in New Hampshire and several people said I HAD to have oysterd at Eventide. And it came highly recommended by an number of people in Portland. I don't typically order oysters but I made an exception and I am now a connoisseur of Maine oysters. They were so delicious!!!! I had the Lemon Stone, Norii, and Chebeague Island oysters and they were so good. So so good. I also ordered the Brown Butter Lobster roll and it was one of the best of the 4 lobster rolls I tried around town. I came late afternoon during a week day and was able to get seated at the bar pretty quickly, but almost as soon as I sat down I noticed the line getting longer. I loved the oyster bar up front with the oysters labeled. Overall great experience and glad I took the advise of so many and ate at Eventide.

This spot was a nice way to start our Portland, Maine trip. We were seated promptly and the staff were very friendly. We had some oysters (a dozen each) all which were fresh, delicious and a good example of Maine seafood. We also had a spicy oyster shooter. It was quite big. Very tasty. We then had a lobster roll, which was small but honestly AMAZING. The roll it was on was just perfect, it melted like butter in itself. The lobster was SO good and fresh and they gave you a good amount. We also had a fried oyster roll which was also absolutely delicious and not typically what I would order. Would definitely come again and have the same rolls and maybe more!!

We stopped in here to have a nice, relatively small, early dinner and were very happy we decided to go. Inside is nice and bright with the oysters piled high right at the entrance. Our waiter was super friendly and made us feel so welcome. We started with a half dozen oysters from the great selection of various options from different farms. For the 2 pairings we got cocktail sauce and the iced kimchi. The oysters were so fresh and definitely a good size. Also, the iced kimchi is something I want on my oysters every-time now! We got lobster rolls too which might be one of my favorite in Portland now. Soft steamy bun, buttery lobster that melts in your mouth, and the amount of meet made us fall in love. A very great take on a classic. For the sides we had the coleslaw and chips. For being just sides they were also amazing too. We finally finished with possibly one of the best ice cream sandwiches we have ever had. This place caught us by surprise and we will be back soon on a nice day. Definitely would recommend coming for yourself. *this is only our opinion*
